The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has been the governing body for refrigerant licences and refrigerant trading authorisations in Australia since the early 1990’s. It is legally required that businesses acquire a refrigerant licence to handle R134a and R1234yr, these are the refrigerant gasses that all car manufacturers have used since R12 was outlawed in the early 1990’s, due to its harmfulness to the environment. 12/24 Volt Auto Electrics is an ARC certified business and is proud to operate strictly within the guidelines and rules of this governing body.
The Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers (iame) was established in 1936. It supports the industry by giving technical information relevant to the trade. It has been instrumental in improving conditions within the industry by raising the skill level and supporting Tradesmen wanting to further educate themselves. iame issues a monthly journal to its members called the “The Automotive Engineer”. Members can be kept up to date and informed of changes within the sector. Seminars and training are held frequently in Queensland and throughout Australia.
