If your car air conditioner is not cooling, as it should, it is probably not working correctly and may be losing refrigerant (liquid or gas leak).
How will my car’s air conditioning repaired?
We will need to diagnose the problem and if a leak is evident it needs to be repaired before the air conditioner is re-gassed. Simply topping up an air conditioner leaking fluorocarbon refrigerant is illegal and will harm the environment by continuing to leak refrigerant into the air.
An auto electrician qualified to work with vehicle air conditioners will need to conduct this service.
How often should I service my vehicle’s air conditioning?
Two yearly maintenance services are required to avoid costly repairs. We can send you a friendly reminder prior to the annual due date.
The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has been the governing body for refrigerant licences and refrigerant trading authorisations in Australia since the early 1990’s. It is legally required that businesses acquire a refrigerant licence to handle R134a and R1234yr, these are the refrigerant gasses that all car manufacturers have used since R12 was outlawed in the early 1990’s, due to its harmfulness to the environment. 12/24 Volt Auto Electrics is an ARC certified business and is proud to operate strictly within the guidelines and rules of this governing body.
The Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers (iame) was established in 1936. It supports the industry by giving technical information relevant to the trade.
